
STRENGTHENING PRIMARY HEALTH CARE IN RURAL INDIA
President of India, Mr M Venkaiah Naidu, inaugurated the conference. Mr Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and Mr Manoj Jhalani, Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM) also spoke in the inaugural function. The conference culminated with the unanimous adoption of the Delhi Declaration, calling for people living in rural and isolated parts to be given a special priority if nations are to achieve universal health coverage.
